חתונה

טקס החופה מתקיים כאשר החתן והכלה יושבים בתוך אפריון, ״כמלך ומלכה דמי״. תוך שהם יושבים, עורכים הרבנים את החופה בעמידה וקוראים את הכתובה(מנהג זה היה מקובל בקהילות מרוקו ותימן). מימין — טקס החיוב ותקיעת־ כף בין החתן לחותן ועריכת התנאים על ידי הספרא־ דדיינא.

בפינה — הצגת הנדוניה על ־ידי אם הכלה בפני הנשים. במרכז למטה — טקס ה״חינה״ כסימן לשבעת ימי השמחה. בפינה משמאל — בבוקר — הגשת התה, הלביבות וכד החלב.

LE MARIAGE

La cérémonie de mariage se déroule alors que les époux sont assis sur une sorte de trône — comme il sied à des rois auxquels ils sont comparés — alors que les rabbins sont debout et lisent la Kétouba, acte de mariage (c’était la coutume au Maroc et au Yemen). A droite — la cérémonie du Hyoub — l’engagement et la poignée de main des parents après l’accord en vue du mariage, le greffier du tribunal inscrivant le protocole des conditions convenues

Au coin la présentation aux femmes de la dot par la mère de la mariée. Au centre en bas la cérémonie du henné — symbole des sept jours de joie. Au coin à gauche — la présentation, le lendemain du drap tâché de sang — preuve de virginité, et l’offrande de thé accompagné de beignets et d’une carafe de lait

MARRIAGE

The chuppah ceremony is conducted with the bride and groom seated under a canopy, "Like a king and queen." The rabbis read out the ketubah (Marriage contract), as in the communities of Morocco and Yemen. On the right we see the "commitment" and "handshake" between the groom and the bride's father, while the Scribes draw up the engagement conditions. In the corner is the presentation of the dowry by the bride's mother. Bottom-center — the "henna" ceremony as a sign of the seven festive days. Left-hand corner — the morning-after display of the virginal linen, with tea, pancakes and milk.
